In a night street game called Sepulveda Suicide, when his brother (Tommy Nash) was driven away by the ruthless drug dealer (Darren Thomas), Rick Merchant (Jaz Martin) passed his grief on the steering wheel for revenge. But to win, he needs to modify his trustworthy 1988 Mazda RX-7 / Nissan 240sx (Zenki / Kouki, chase scene) with the help of mechanic Kelly (Hennely Jimenez) to maximize the performance of the machine.

The title first appeared on the official website of the Asylum in November 2010 under the name “200 MPH: Midnight Racer”. More details of the film appeared on the official page of the website when it went live in January 2010. The main photography started around the same time, which indicates that the subtitle “Midnight Racers” has been deleted and the film will be directed by senior stunt expert Cole McKay (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon & Cloverfield”), written by Thunder Levin. Only Jaz Martin, Anna Maria DeMara, Darren Thomas, and Hennely Jimenez were announced for the show. The film is scheduled to be released on April 26, 2011.

During the production process, the Mazda RX-7 used as a Rick Merchant car was stolen. RX-7 belongs to the award-winning professional drifter Justin Pawlak (Justin Pawlak). The vehicle was located in a 26-foot-tall enclosed Aztex trailer that was connected to Pawlak’s Chevrolet 2500HD and was stolen during production.

The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 26, 2011. It can also be used in video-on-demand via cable TV and other websites (including iTunes, Amazon, Zune (also on Zune via Xbox Live) and Blockbuster). Some foreign distributions have assigned different titles to the movie. In Greece, the name is 300 hlm, and in France, the name is Fast Drive.

The film was released on Netflix’s instant streaming media one month later on May 26, 2011. In less than 24 hours, the movie was ranked in the top 5 of the top 50 most popular streaming movies and peaked in the top 3. This list is generated by the unofficial Netflix companion website Instant Watcher.Com.
