The latest season of Fortnite is here, where some of the biggest Marvel heroes joined forces to help save Royale Battle Island. Technically speaking, Chapter 2: Season 4 of the new season is called “Nexus War”. This is a comic book-style event where the main characters join forces to fight the earth-destroying villain Galactus.
Those who purchase Fortnite’s seasonal battle pass will be able to unlock Iron Man, Tempest, Mystery, Doctor Doom, Groot and Shel Hawke, and others, as well as the amnestic Thor. Developer Epic also said that certain members of the X-Men will be available later this season: “Please note that Wolverine has been spotted on the island and he will not come quietly.”
We know that since last week, Fortnite’s new season will be based on Marvel, and Epic subsequently released an in-game comic book detailing the upcoming story. The comic explains how the crossover happens. Essentially, the power of Fortnite Island attracted Thor and Galactus, and Thor eventually summoned other heroes including Iron Man, Wolverine, and Captain America to help.
Once Thor dropped his iconic hammer, a crater actually appeared on the fortress island where it landed. The comic ends with “will continue in the fourth season”. The epic describes the conflict as a “war to save reality.”
Fortnite has long been the home of licensed superhero characters, from “The Avengers” and “Batman” to the latest works such as Deadpool and Aquaman. However, the entire theme season is a new field for battle royale games.
The latest update is after season 3, the island was hit by a major storm for some time. Of course, what’s happening in the world of Fortnite is more than just the new season. Epic is currently in trouble in a dispute over app store fees between Apple and Google.
The developers first chose a new payment method in the mobile version of Fortnite; both Apple and Google responded by quitting the game, which led to Epic’s lawsuit. The developers even posted imitation videos and Fortnite competitions to gain support. Therefore, the new Fortnite-themed peak season will be the first season unavailable on all platforms. Users who play games on Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, and Mac cannot access the latest updates.
