Genshin Impact is an upcoming free open world, action role-playing video game developed by miHoYo. This is the second game with original IP released by miHoYo, the first is Gun GirlZ.
Genshin Impact announced in June 2019 that the goal is to release on Windows and iOS in 2020. The unveiling trailer shows an open world inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Beta testing will be conducted at the end of June.
At Sony’s ChinaJoy 2019 event, the game was announced to be released on PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch version was announced on January 13, 2020, through a press release.
On August 6, 2020, miHoYo announced that it will release Playstation 4 in the fall of 2020.
The game has an open world map that players can explore by walking, climbing, swimming and sliding when needed. Important objects and places are scattered throughout the map. The player can control up to four characters at once. By completing tasks to advance the story, players can unlock a total of 30 playable characters. In addition, Genshin Impact is a multiplayer video game. Genshin influence will have a cross-play option.
Each character has two unique combat skills: common skills and special skills. Except for the cooling time just after use, ordinary skills can be used at any time, while the energy cost of special skills is very high, requiring users to accumulate sufficient elemental energy first.
The character can control one of the following seven natural elements: Low Temperature, Dendro, Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro, and Geo.
Cooking is another important aspect of the Genshin Impact gameplay. Players will collect many resources during the adventure, some of which can be cooked into dishes. Some dishes can restore the character to health, while others can enhance attack or defense capabilities.
miHoYo announced that in late January 2017, three months after the first release of Honkai Impact 3rd, it will use the Unity development platform to work on new projects. The company said that the intention of the new project is to strengthen the company’s research and development capabilities and produce higher quality games. The project in question is Genshin Impact.
The developer of the game cited the “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Grand Theft Auto” series. They are trying to create a game that is different from the 3rd of Hon Hai’s influence in terms of challenge and combat system, random events, and exploration mode.
The Chinese version of the game provides Chinese voice dialogues, while the Japanese version specifically provides Japanese voice dialogues by many top Japanese voice artists including Rie Tanaka.
Genshin Impact supports 10 different languages, including: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, Russian, Vietnamese and Thai.
