Amazing Facts About Pula (Croatia) – Pula is the largest city in Croatia’s Istria County and the eighth-largest city in the country. It is located at the southern tip of the Istria Peninsula and had a population of 57,460 in 2011. It is famous for many ancient Roman buildings, the most famous of which is the Pula Arena, which is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters. The city has a long tradition in winemaking, fishing, shipbuilding, and tourism. It was the administrative center of Istria since ancient Roman times until it was replaced by Pazin in 1991.
