Call of Duty Warzone is a free royal battle video game, released on March 10, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. The game is part of the 2019 game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but no purchase is required. Warzone was developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and released by Activision.
Although some limited-time game modes support 200 players, Warzone allows online multiplayer battles between 150 players. Codename: “Rapid Sunder” (Rapid Sunder), located on the 96th day of the ongoing game conflict, in the fictional city of Verdansk, which is roughly based on the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. The game has both cross-platform play and cross-platform progress between the two games.
The game has two main modes: Loot and Battle Royale. Warzone introduced a new in-game currency system called “cash”, which is used in “buy stations” in Verdansk and its surrounding areas. “Dropping” drops are an example, where cash can be used for transactions to restrict access to player custom classes (shared with the standard mode of modern warfare). Players can also use Cash to purchase items such as “killstreaks” and gas masks. At the time of release, Warzone only provided Trios with a lineup of three players. However, in the free post-launch content update, Solos, Duos and Quads have been added to the game.
Although the game’s bugs and glitches (especially after subsequent updates) have been criticized, the game is generally well-received by critics, and the map is particularly well received. In May 2020, Activision announced that Warzone had over 60 million downloads in the first two months.
Warzone has two main game modes: Battle Royale and Plunder. This is the second major Royal Royale game in the Call of Duty series after the Black Ops 4 “Black Ops” mode. The difference between Warzone and Black Ops 4 is that it reduces reliance on equivalent gadgets and instead encourages the accumulation of a new game currency called Cash. Warzone can support up to 150 players in a single game, which is beyond the 100 players commonly seen in other Battle Royale titles. Some limited-time modes can support 200 players.
The Battle Royale mode is similar to other games of this genre. In this game, players compete in a shrinking map to become the last remaining player. Players parachuted onto a large game map, where they met other players. As the game progresses and players are eliminated, the playable area shrinks, forcing the remaining players to enter a narrower space.

In Warzone, areas that cannot be played are contaminated with green gas, which depletes health, and will eventually kill the player if they do not return to the safe play area. Unlike other games, “Battlefield” introduced a new rebirth mechanism, more emphasis on vehicles and new game currency mechanisms. Parachuting is unrestricted, allowing players to open and cut parachutes in the air an unlimited number of times.
At the time of release, the game supports three players (up to three players), and you can choose to disable squad filling. Infinity Ward mentioned the number of test team members in a future update. The four-player squad and Solo BR mode were added in the following updates, and Duos was added at the end of season 3.
The death of a character in Battle Royale does not necessarily translate into player failure like other games. Instead, this mode provides a rebirth mechanism that players can use in various ways. The killed players are transported to the “Gulag”, where they engage in a one-on-one battle with another defeated player, and both players have the same weapons. The guns received by the player have no attachments.
Players can enter the Gulag only after the first death in the game. The victor of this battle will reappear. Other methods of rebirth can be used using the in-game currency system. If the Gulag robot cannot regenerate other players, the player can use the currency in the game to purchase rebirth tokens for other players.
In the looting mode, the team must search the piles of cash scattered around the map to accumulate $1 million. Once found, the game will time out, multiplying the sum of all cash by 1.5. The team that collects the most money when the clock runs out is declared the winner. Players are automatically reborn in this game mode.
In addition to “Battle Royale” and “Pillage”, several time-limited modes have been introduced throughout the game’s life cycle. BR Stimulus is a variant of Battle Royale in which if the player has enough money, they will automatically respawn upon death and the Gulag will be disabled.
Blood Money is a variant of Plunder. In this case, players can get more cash rewards by completing contracts and performing “complete actions” (perform killings) on other players. Warzone Rumble is a 50v50 deathmatch type game mode, played in the intercepted part of the Verdansk main map.
