Spelunky 2 will be released on PlayStation 4 on September 15, 2020. Spelunky2 is the sequel to the caving/treasure hunt classic Spelunky, and this new entry has an online multiplayer, branch paths, new shops, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to ride a turkey.
In the PlayStation status on Thursday, Spelunky developer Yurek revealed more details about Spelunky 2, including the release date: September 15.
In the new trailer, Yu talked about bringing new fans into the world of Spelunky while also catering to the love of old players. In Spelunky 2, players can group online to play together and spread the Spelunky experience.
The trailer shows a variety of new areas, including outer space, beehives, and hellish dungeons. In these areas, players can meet new characters and establish a family of explorers in the game.
The sequel has many new features, such as levers to interact with the world, rideable turkey, new ways to shop, and we can be sure that we saw walruses wearing skirts at some point. Players can also use a bunch of new items, such as clone guns, which can clone anything in front of you, including victims and healing companions (such as dogs).
As Spelunky, Yu promised that Mossmouth and Blitworks will release Spelunky 2 for PlayStation 4 in September, which will bring many surprises. Spelunky2 will also appear on Steam.
