The 355 is an American spy film directed by Simon Kinberg and written by Theresa Rebeck. Movie stars Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Fan Bingbing, Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger, Se Sebastian Stan and Édgar Ramírez. It is scheduled to be released by Universal Pictures on January 15, 2021.

Jessica Chastain proposed to her “Dark Phoenix” director Simon Kinberg the same spirit as the “Mission: Impossible” and “James Bond” series, creating A female-led spy movie. The concept is based on and announced in May 2018 that Kimberg will direct the film with Chastain. In addition, she will also work with Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz and Fan Bingbing. Starring with Lupita Nyong’o. The project was promoted to buyers at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Global Road Entertainment and Amazon Studios bid for distribution rights, and Universal Pictures finally won the North American distribution rights at a high price of $20 million.

In February 2019, Chastain put forward suggestions on the selection of actors. In May 2019, Sebastian Stan and Édgar Ramírez announced their participation in the film, and Cotillard dropped out. Diane Kruger joined in June. Filming started in July 2019 and will be filmed between Paris, Morocco and London. In September 2019, Emilio Insolera joined the cast of the movie.
