“Titane 2021” is a physical horror thriller, written and directed by Julia Ducournau. It starred Agathe Rousselle, Vincent Lindon, Garance Marillier, and Laïs Salameh. The film was co-produced by France and Belgium.
It had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on July 13, 2021, and Ducournau became the second female director to win the Palme d’Or and the first woman to win a single award. Then it will be distributed in France by Diaphana Distribution on July 14, 2021.
After a series of unexplainable crimes, a father reunites with his missing son for 10 years. Titane : A heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant metal with high tensile strength alloy.
In September 2019, Vincent Lindon and Agathe Rousselle announced that they would join the cast of the film, and Julia Ducournau directed the film based on the script she wrote. Neon will release the movie in the United States.
Main photography will start in September 2020. Production was originally scheduled to start in April 2020, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
By June 2021, Altitude Film Distribution and Film4 have jointly obtained the distribution rights for the film. “Titane” has its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on July 13, 2021. At the beginning of the closing ceremony, Spike Lee, chairman of the jury, was told to announce the “first prize” in French, but misunderstood the phrase as “first place.” As a result, he prematurely revealed that the film won the Palme d’Or. Ducournau is the second female director to win the award for “Piano” after Jane Campion in 1993, and the first woman to win the award independently.
