Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) is a Boston volcanologist and his nephew, Josh Hutcherson, should stay with him for ten days. Trevor learned at work that his brother’s laboratory was closed due to lack of funds. Trevor forgot about Sean’s arrival until he received a few messages from Sean’s mother.

When Sean’s mother dropped him off the car, she left Trevor with a box of things belonging to Trevor’s brother Max and Sean’s father, which disappeared years ago. After Sean told him about his father, Sean suddenly became interested in what he said. He never really had a chance to meet his father. In the box, Trevor found Jules Verne’s novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” Trevor found the notes of the late brother in the book. Trevor went to his laboratory to learn more about these notes. There, he realized that he had to go to Iceland to investigate himself.

He planned to send Sean back to his mother, but expressed dissatisfaction with Sean’s protest and brought Sean to Iceland. They started by looking for another volcanologist. When they arrived at the institution where the scientist was located, they met his daughter Hannah (Anita Briem), who told them that he was dead. She also told them that both her father and Max thought Jules Verne’s book was a factual record.

However, she provided a way to help them climb to the instrument that suddenly started sending data again. While hiking the mountain, a thunderstorm forced the three people into a cave. The entrance to the cave collapsed, trapping them, so they had no choice but to go deep into the cave, which turned out to be an abandoned mine.

Trevor, Sean and Hannah conducted a deeper investigation of the mine until they fell into a deep pit and took them to the “center of the earth.” They all continued until they found the cave dwelling where Max lived. Trevor and Sean found Max’s old diary. Hannah and Trevor find Max’s body and bury it.

Trevor read from Max’s diary a message written on Sean’s 3rd birthday (8-14-97). Trevor continued to read Max’s diary until he realized from his notes that they had to leave quickly due to the steady rise in temperature.

Trevor thinks they must find a geyser that can send them to the ground. They must complete this operation within 48 hours, otherwise all the water that created the geyser will disappear. They also believe that they must leave before the temperature exceeds 135 degrees. They started by crossing the underground ocean, and then the two adults separated from Sean.

Sean’s guide is now a bird, and he has been there since the three of them entered the center, leading him to the river. However, he met Tyrannosaurus and Tervor-desperately looking for him-and saved him. When they reached the geyser, they were all dried. All the water is on the other side of the wall.

Trevor used a torch to ignite the magnesium in the wall and caused the geyser to shoot it over Mount Vesuvius in Italy. When they destroyed the home of an Italian man, Sean gave him the diamond he had found earlier. Trevor sees more things in his backpack, and he uses them to fund his brother’s laboratory.

Throughout the adventure, Hannah and Trevor gradually became so attached that they kissed. The movie ends on the last day of the visit of Sean and Trevor (and now Hannah), he is leaving their new home, which Sean brought from the cave For some diamonds, Trevor handed Sean a book called “Atlantis.” , Suggesting that they might be able to hang out at Sean’s during the Christmas break.
