Pathfinder Kingmaker is an isometric role-playing game developed by Russian studio Owlcat Games and published by Deep Silver, based on the Pathfinder series of Paizo Publishing. The game was announced in 2017 through a Kickstarter advertising campaign, and it was released for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux on September 25, 2018.
The gameplay is modeled on Pathfinder role-playing games and inspired by classic computer RPGs such as Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights. It has a real-time suspension combat system and an isometric perspective view. One of the salient features of the game is the emphasis on the establishment of the field. The player’s decision as a local master will affect the rest of the game because they are trapped in a world full of political conspiracies and adventures.
Character customization is a key feature, and there is also an alignment system in which the alignment of the character will change due to the player’s choice. Although the player only starts with one character he created, the game is based on a party, because the companions join all the way. These include established Pathfinder roles and newly invented roles. It is estimated that the game will last more than 80 to 140 hours.
