The Last of Us Part II is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4. Five years after the release of “Our Last Moments” (2013), players control the two intertwined countries of the Associated Press after the end of the world: Ellie takes revenge after tragedy and the militia, and Abby (Abby) is a soldier in conflict between cults. Play the game from a third-person perspective. Players can use guns, simple weapons, and invisible weapons to fight human enemies and man-eating creatures produced by people infected by the Cordyceps variant.

The development of the second part of “The Last of Us” began in 2014, and “Related of Us” was released. Neil Druckmann returned to creative director and co-authored this story with Halley Gross. The themes of revenge and retribution in the game are inspired by Drahman’s experience growing up in Israel. Ashley Johnson (Ashley Johnson) plays Ellie, and Laura Bailey (Laura Bailey) plays Abby. Their performance includes simultaneous recording of actions and sounds.

The developers promoted the technical functions of PlayStation 4 during the development process. Gustavo Santaolalla (Gustavo Santaolalla) came back to create and score. According to reports, the development includes a tight 12-hour work schedule.

After a period of delay (partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the second part of “Our Last Part” was widely acclaimed on June 19, 2020. The narrative and performance of transgender roles polarize critics and communities. This game is the subject of comment bombs on Metacritic. The second part is the best-selling PlayStation 4 game and one of the best-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive games, which sold more than 4 million units during its release weekend.

The second part of “Our Last Part” is an action adventure game from a third-person perspective. Players travel through apocalyptic environments, such as buildings and forests, to advance the story. Players can use guns, simple weapons and invisible weapons to defend against hostile humans and cannibals infected by mutant cordyceps.

The control will switch between Ellie and Abby intermittently; players can also control Joel briefly during the opening ceremony. The agility of the player character introduces a platform element to the game, enabling the player to jump and climb to traverse the environment and gain an advantage in battle. Certain areas in the game are navigated by horses or boats.

In battle, players can use long-range weapons such as rifles and bows, as well as short-range weapons such as pistols and revolvers. Players can sweep melee weapons such as machetes and hammers, and throw bricks and bottles to disperse or attack enemies.

The collected items can be used to upgrade weapons on the workbench or craft equipment, such as medical kits, Molotov cocktails, and temporary silencers. Players can collect supplements to upgrade the skills in the skill tree; training manuals found throughout the environment can release other branches of the skill tree, which can upgrade things such as health meter, crafting speed, and ammunition types.

Although players can directly attack enemies, they can also use stealth to attack undetected enemies or sneak past them. “Listening Mode” allows players to locate enemies through enhanced hearing and spatial awareness (through visible contours of walls and objects). In the cover system, players can squat behind obstacles to gain a combat advantage, or they can lean over and crawl to avoid enemies.

Hostile enemies use artificial intelligence; they may cover or ask for help, and may use it when the player is distracted, lacks ammunition, or fights. The player may be pierced by an arrow, which will gradually reduce its health and disable the “listening mode” until it is removed under cover. Companions of players such as Dina assist in combat by killing enemies or declaring their location. The game also introduces a guard dog, which can track the player’s smell and can be visualized in “listening mode”.
